Equine therapy expert to give presentation

Nationally known consultant and trainer Jon Eagle, owner of Sung Nagi Kici Okiju: Becoming one with the Spirit of the Horse LLC, is scheduled to give a presentation Wednesday, Oct. 8, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Memorial Union Prairie room. Eagle’s visit is sponsored by the Division of Equity, Diversity and Global Outreach; NDSU Counseling Center; Department of Health, Nutrition, and Exercise Science; and Department of Animal Sciences.

Eagle is considered an expert on the wraparound process, systems of care, cultural competency, leadership and equine therapy. He has conducted numerous training sessions and workshops at tribal, state and national conferences across the United States and Canada. He has 25 years of experience working with children, families and communities.

Eagle is a member of the consultant pool at the National Cultural Competence Center for Children's Mental Health, Center for Child and Human Development, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., and he is a founding member of the Northern Plains Equine Assisted Practitioners.

Eagle is an independent contractor for Vroon VanDenBerg LLP, and also is as a grant reviewer for the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, Washington, DC.

The seminar is free and open to everyone. Refreshments will be served.
