Faculty, researchers and students are invited to attend a free MATLAB and Simulink seminar on Wednesday, Oct. 15, in Quentin Burdick Building 422. The event is hosted by Mathworks and the NDSU Information Technology Division.

Lunch will be provided. To register, go to https://www.mathworks.com/NDSU2014.

The seminar includes two technical sessions. “Top 10 Productivity Tools in MATLAB” is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This technical session, will discuss ways to increase your productivity and effectiveness using MATLAB. Hosts will demonstrate and share best practices for exploring, analyzing and visualizing your data, and how to quickly develop algorithms and share results with your colleagues.

“Using MATLB to Acquire and Analyze Real-World Data” is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. In this technical session, attendees will see how MATLAB can be used to develop and automate a data analysis process to characterize a real world system.

MATLAB — software used for numerical computation, visualization, and programming — is available at no cost to NDSU faculty and staff for both on-campus and home use. To order MATLAB, faculty and staff should contact their departmental software licensing contact. MATLAB also is available for student, faculty and staff use on Windows computers in ITS-supported computer labs on campus.

Questions about NDSU software licensing can be directed to ndsu.software.licensing@ndsu.edu or call 701-231-8685 (option 4).

Questions about the MATLAB seminar can be directed to Sarah Fayyad, account manager for Mathworks, at 508-647-4645 or sarah.fayyad@mathworks.com.
