Carol A. Archbold, associate professor of criminal justice, will be a panelist for a discussion-based program, "Idea Exchange: BAKKEN BOOM Lives, Land and Labor," scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Plains Art Museum. Archbold will discuss her research on crime and policing in the Bakken.

Archbold also was interviewed by Rodes Fishburne regarding her research. Fishburne is the co-executive producer of a television series ordered by ABC studios titled, "Boom!" On Jan. 31, the Dickinson Press reported that "Boom!" tracks the pilgrimage of a young, ambitious couple, seeking a better life, to the oil fields of the Bakken, where they come across roughnecks, drifters, oil barons, criminals and fellow prospectors.
