Senior Eric McDaniel is the new NDSU student body president for 2015-16, while junior Josh Fergel has been elected vice president. NDSU students submitted approximately 1,700 electronic ballots during voting April 8-9.

McDaniel is a civil engineering major from Bismarck, North Dakota. "It's a terrific feeling knowing students have confidence in us. We've put a lot of work into our platform and really look forward to getting started," McDaniel said.

Among McDaniel's priorities as president are to ensure a great experience for all students and to provide transparency in Student Government.

McDaniel is currently an assistant executive commissioner of finance in Student Government. He is active in Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Bison Ambassadors, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Blue Key Honor Society.

"Eric and I are incredibly excited," said Fergel, who is a social science education major from Shakopee, Minnesota. "We're grateful the students came out and chose us to represent them, and we're grateful to have the opportunity to try to make an impact on the student body through the plans we've laid out."

Fergel is active in Army ROTC and Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

McDaniel and Fergel defeated a ticket of junior Robert Kringler from Fargo and sophomore Aaron Weber from Wishek, North Dakota.
