The Tri-College University Libraries, which include NDSU, Minnesota State University Moorhead and Concordia College, was selected by the Association of College and Research Libraries to host a national workshop for academic librarians. The focus was the changing environment of scholarly communication and the effect on libraries.

The workshop was held April 10 at NDSU’s Harry D. McGovern Alumni Center. National experts led workshop sessions on scholarly content, intellectual property and engagement.

“NDSU, MSUM and Concordia libraries have a record of shared professional development activities through the Tri-College University and are partnering with other institutions and organizations in the area to extend the reach to as diverse an audience as possible,” said Bridget Burke, dean of libraries at NDSU. “Being selected demonstrates engagement with our community and our commitment to addressing the grand challenges of providing access to scholarly resources in a changing economic environment.”

The Tri-College was among four institutions around the country chosen. Other institutions selected to host workshops were Auburn University Libraries, Iowa State University Library and University of South Carolina.
