John K. Cox, professor, chair and head of history, presented the keynote address at the Holocaust Day of Remembrance April 16 at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. Cox spoke on the theme, "Learning from the Holocaust: Choosing to Act."

Cox has published articles on fascism and the Shoah in the Balkans, and has often taught about the history of the Holocaust.

According to the Air Force Base's official public website, Cox's talk "was to not only educate people further on the Holocaust, but also to promote awareness of cultural understanding and the possibilities that come with finding more peaceful solutions to problems."

The luncheon was held at the Northern Lights Club ballroom.
