NDSU pitcher Krista Menke was named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District 6 Softball first team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in May.

Menke, a 5-foot-11 senior from Friend, Neb., maintains a 3.67 grade-point average majoring in exercise science.

District 6 is composed of student-athletes from Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by her sports information director.
