Three NDSU communication professionals received awards in the 2015 North Dakota Professional Communicators communications contest.
The awards were presented during a recent spring conference in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Those receiving awards were:
Ellen Crawford, writer/editor, Agriculture Communication
- First, specialty articles, agriculture, agribusiness, aquaculture - for articles on NDSU testing unmanned aerial systems for agricultural use and NDSU Extension Service specialists educating producers on the new farm bill’s provisions
- First, publications regularly edited by entrant, magazine, newsletter or other non-newspaper publication - for Nourishing Boomers and Beyond monthly newsletters
- First, news or feature releases, multiple releases - for news releases on the porcine epidemic diarrhea virus
- Second, news story, magazine, newsletter, or other non-newspaper print publication - for an article on Extension’s efforts to provide small-business advice
- Third, reports - for the Extension Service and Agricultural Experiment Station’s Annual Highlights publication
Becky Koch, director, Agriculture Communication
- First, magapapers/tabloids - for the We’re No. 1 AgMag issue focusing on North Dakota being the nation’s top producer of several crops
Carol Renner, communications manager, Office of Research and Creative Activity
- Second, reports - for the Office of Research and Creative Activity’s 2014 annual report
- Third, news or feature release, single release - for an article on a discovery by NDSU researchers that could lead to a new type of plastic that can be broken down when it’s exposed to a specific type of light
