NDSU visual arts students create community sculpture

SHARE

NDSU Visual Arts students are inviting community members to contribute to a commemorative wall constructed on the northeast side of the patio at Renaissance Hall, 650 NP Ave.

The wall, which is made of lumber using a honeycomb pattern, represents the ties that we all have to where we live. The students are inviting people to leave mementos that honor friendship, family, hobbies, memories and other tokens significant to members of the Fargo-Moorhead community. Mementos will not be returned, although owners are welcome to retrieve them from the wall prior to Friday, Dec. 12.

The sculpture is now open to the public and will remain standing until Dec. 12. The memorial wall was completed by a group of six art students for their final class project in three-dimensional design. The artists are Taylor Arne, Kristina Kraemer, Brittany Olafson, Geoff Schaffer, Whitney Smith and Jared Zeiszler.
