Rebecca Loney, assistant director of leadership and community development, is the recipient of the Heartland Pride Award. She is being recognized for her efforts in organizing the Midwest Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls Conference, which brought 500 attendees to Fargo-Moorhead and NDSU.

The organization is comprised of residence hall associations from seven Midwest states and one Canadian province. Their purpose is to promote the educational goals of residence hall students.

Each year, the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitors Bureau presents awards to individuals or organizations that help promote tourism in the Fargo-Moorhead area. A total of eight awards were presented in 2008. This year’s awards were mosaic mirrors by local artist Kathryn Luther.
