Wu article published

An article co-written by Erxi Wu, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences, was selected for publication in the PLoS ONE online journal on April 10. The article is titled “A practical platform for blood biomarker study by using global gene expression profiling of peripheral whole blood.”

Other authors include Ze Tian, Children's Hospital Boston Informatics Program, Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass.; Nathan Palmer and Patrick Schmid of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Hui Yao, Children's Hospital Boston Genomics Program; Michal Galdzicki and Isaac S. Kohane, Children’s Hospital Boston Informatics Program; and Bonnie Berger, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

PLoS ONE, which is produced by the Public Library of Science, is described as “an international, peer-reviewed, open-access, online publication.” It features research reports from disciplines within science and medicine, and fosters debate and discussions on published papers through its online community. Registered site users can rate articles for insight reliability and style.

Wu, who joined the NDSU faculty in December, earned a bachelor’s degree at Hunan Normal University in China and a doctorate in molecular medicine from Sheffield University in the United Kingdom. Wu also was a research associate at the Harvard Medical School’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a staff scientist at Children’s Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
