To celebrate the NDSU football victory over rival South Dakota State University,  a news conference is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 17, at 1 p.m. in Thundar’s Den, located in the basement of the Memorial Union. Head coach Craig Bohl, Bison football captains and Student Body Vice President Shawn Affolter will talk about the importance of the Dakota Marker trophy and discuss the outlook for the remainder of the Bison football season. Attendees will get a chance to view the Dakota Marker, as it will be on display in the Memorial Union near the NDSU Bookstore from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Dakota Marker trophy was started in 2004 by the NDSU Blue Key Honor Society chapter and SDSU Student Association. It is a replica of the original monuments placed on the North Dakota/South Dakota border every halfmile, with “N.D.” on the north side and “S.D.” on the south side. The Bison have battled the Jackrabbits since 1903, and this trophy marks the beginning of the rivalry between the two schools as NCAA Division I members.
