Students majoring in Nursing at NDSU complete 122 credits of course work. All students complete 40 credits of general education courses; 20 credits of support courses for the nursing major and 61 credits of professional nursing credits.
Course work in the Nursing Curriculum provides a foundation of knowledge which will assist a student to grow into the role of a professional Registered Nurse. Students are exposed a wide variety of clinical settings. Clinical is completed at a variety of facilities in the Fargo/Moorhead community including Sanford Health, Essentia Health, VA Hospital, Cass Public Health, and Prairie St. Johns. Faculty to student ratio in the clinical setting of 8:1 provides for a student-focused learning environment.

~First year students with a composite ACT score of ≥21 should register for ENGL 120 (unless transfer credit for ENGL 120 is received). If ENGL 120 is completed with a grade of “C or better, three credits will be awarded for ENGL 110 with a passing grade of (P).
