Common courses needed to be complete during the 2 years (and prior to graduation): 

  • Chemistry 117 & 117L: Chemical Concepts and Applications  & Lab (only offered fall semester)
  • Chemistry 260: Elements of Biochemistry (only offered Spring semester)
  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Upper Level English
  • Humanities & Fine Arts Electives (6 credits total)
  • Global Perspectives Elective
  • Cultural Diversity Elective
  • Electives as need to meet the following requirements:  122 total credits, 60 credits from a 4-year institution, 36 credits completed at NDSU, 36 credits 300-400 level courses.  

Clinical Requirements

 

  • Nursing 360: Health Assessment does have a lab component but students are able to complete this at home and submit via video tape.
  • Nursing 372: Integrated Family has a labor experience (one day) in which the student is able to select a day from a variety of choices and it is usually a weekend experience.
  • Nursing 406: Public Health is completed in the summer. The course instructor connects the student with an agency and the student is able to schedule the hours based on a mutual agreement with the agency.
  • Nursing 407L: Adult Health Complex Issues Clinical, also in the summer, has the largest clinical component. This course will have approximately 90 hours in the hospital clinical.
  • Nursing 450: Synthesis and Practicum is a capstone course which has 120 hours of clinical. All clinical is in Fargo/Moorhead.
