Tim Hoffelt has been teaching jazz guitar at NDSU as an adjunct faculty member since spring 2011. As an active musician, Tim has been performing in a variety of musical groups for 14 years, teaching privately for 10 years, and has an extensive background in jazz theory.

Tim received a Bachelor of Music degree in Film Scoring and Music Business from Berklee College of Music and studied guitar under Tim Miller, Bruce Saunders, Robert Harrigan, and Andrew Maness.

In other areas, Tim has been acting Musical Director for Dakota Air: The Radio Show since 2010 where he coordinates with house band members and guest musicians for live show performances, has written commercial music for Absolute Marketing Group and Olivet Lutheran Church, performs with instrumental pop-jazz group The Elevators as well as regularly with singer Sarah Morrau.
