Erik Vigesaa is the Lecturer of Horn at North Dakota State University and a member of the NDSU Faculty Brass Quintet and Faculty Woodwind Quintet. He also owns and operates Resound Recording, a commercial recording studio. Previously he taught instrumental and vocal music 9-12 at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy in Fergus Falls MN. Erik studied horn with a number of teachers, including Mary Cole, Debra Poole of Manhattan, NY, Caesar LaMonaca (ret. Houston Symphony) Bruce Houglum (Concordia College), Mark Fasman (Moorhead State University) and Kendall Betts (ret.principal, Minnesota Orchestra, New York Philharmonic). Mr. Vigesaa is currently the principal horn of the Central Lakes Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Yellowstone Chamber Players in Billings MT.
Erik has been a member of several orchestras, notably, principal horn of the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony. He has also been the guest soloist with the Great Falls Symphony, the Billings Symphony, the Lake Agassiz Band and Otter Tail Valley Orchestra. Erik was featured on Minnesota Public Radio for his performance of Mozart 2nd Concerto. He is also a past member of the Northern Plains Brass Quintet, which aired a concert of selected works on Minnesota Public Radio. The quintet was also a featured on the Fargo-Moorhead Chamber Concert series.
Erik resides in Fergus Falls, MN with his wife, Ruth, daughter, Karin and three big dogs! When he’s not teaching at NDSU or operating his recording studio, you’ll find him on his boat fishing at Ten Mile Lake in Minnesota.
