Sublett Published in College Music Symposium

October 14, 2011

Dr. Virginia Sublett, Professor of Voice at North Dakota State University Music, was recently published in the College Music Society’s College Music Symposium.  Entitled “Pierrot Lunaire at 95: Schoenberg’s Music Hybrid and Twentieth-Century Vocal Chamber Music,” it comprises the contents of a paper Sublett delivered at the national convention of the College Music Society in 2007.  Sublett’s article was included in this volume at the request of the Symposium editor.

Additionally, Sublett has been invited to perform the soprano solo in Johannes Brahms’ Requiem with the Grand Forks (ND) Master Chorale in November.  She made her solo debut in this powerful piece as a college student in 1971, performing with the Louisiana State University Chorus and Orchestra, and has performed it numerous times since with ensembles such as the San Diego (CA) Symphony and the La Jolla (CA) Symphony Orchestra and Chorus.
