September 19, 2013
Matthew Patnode, Associate Professor of Saxophone with the NDSU School of Music, was presented with a 20 year service award by the International Music Camp (IMC). The award was presented during a July 18 ceremony at the IMC.
“Over the past 20 years, I have met many high school students who have later attended NDSU as music majors” said Patnode. “I would like to think they made this choice from our work together. It is also a great experience for me to work with enthused high school students from around the globe, including Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, and Canada.”
While at the IMC, Patnode has taught saxophone lessons, sectionals, master classes, theory and improvisation classes, jazz band and jazz combo. He also performed in many faculty recitals, concert band and the jazz band.
