Professor Sylvio May, along with graduate students Stephan Loew, Goetz Kaehler, and Demmelash Mengistu organized three events for the 2008 Science Olympiad:  Physics Lab, Crave the Wave, and Trajectory.

In ''Crave the wave'' students were asked to answer 20 different <link fileadmin physics.ndsu.edu pdf_files so08_wavetest.pdf download-link>test questions, all relating to waves.

''Trajectory'' students brought their own shooting devices that were used to aim at two targets three- and seven meters away from the launching spot.
