I support a favorite charity of my own. Why give to United Way, too?
We all have our favorite charities, but the problems of the community are much larger than any one agency can handle. United Way partner programs offer a broad mix of programs and services to meet the diverse needs of our whole community. Plus, the United Way campaign helps keep agency fundraising costs low.
I don't live in town so I don't feel I need to give.
United Way of Cass-Clay serves not only Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo-Dilworth, but surrounding communities that are in Cass and Clay Counties. People who need services come to where the agency is, and in most cases, that is the Fargo-Moorhead metro area.
The United Way helps only the poor in the community-not people like me.
People of ALL income levels in our community receive services. We all benefit from a healthier, happier community.
I pay taxes. Don't those dollars help people?
Many people who are helped by government agencies also require the services of the private sector-those programs funded by United Way. These agencies fill in gaps and supplement health and human service needs in our community.
How much money goes to the national organization?
Less than one percent of the money raised goes to United Way of America.
