2. Burgum Hall

This all-female residence hall was named for NDSU's first female student, Jesamine Slaughter Burgum. Administrators waited until Jesamine Slaughter was married to name a building after her to avoid any negative connotations that would come with naming a building "Slaughter Hall". Burgum Hall is located on the southern end of campus near the Library and Putnam Hall. All rooms are air-conditioned and feature oak bunk beds, built-in vanity desks and wardrobes. Burgum Hall is available to first-year students and upperclassmen.
