NDSU’s MPH Program receives the official endorsement from the NIHB

Created by Melissa Eslinger |

The National Indian Health Board’s (NIHB) Resolution 13-02 grants official endorsement of the Master of Public Health program (MPH) at NDSU.

The NIHB is a board that serves all Federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) Tribal governments and is focused on the improvement of health care delivery to AI/ANs.  The official endorsement from NIHB creates a partnership whose main goal is to improve the health status of AI/AN populations.

Many health professionals are lacking in specialized training about the public health areas of AI/AN communities.  The NDSU MPH program has created the first MPH program with a specialization that prioritizes the health issues of the AI/AN population.  Donald Warne, NDSU’s MPH Program Director, is the only American Indian MPH director in the U.S.
