EASTERN NORTH DAKOTA FIELD COURSE
FALL SEMESTER, 2009

  1. CLASS MEETING TIMES - WEDNESDAYS, 5:00- 5:50 p.m., STEVENS ROOM 134, ON AUGUST 26th, SEPTEMBER 16th and 23rd. ATTENDANCE IS REQUIRED AT EACH CLASS PERIOD.
  2. FIELD TRIP FEE OF $40 estimated (FOR VEHICLE, CAMPING COSTS, FIELD GUIDE)  TO BE PAID TO MRS. PHYLLIS MURRAY, ROOM 218, STEVENS HALL, BY FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 - NO REFUNDS. 
  3. FIELD WEEKEND - SEPTEMBER 26-27 - LOAD BUS AT 7:30 A.M., DEPART  8:00 A.M., SATURDAY MORNING, STEVENS HALL PARKING LOT, RETURN 5:30 P.M. SATURDAY; SUNDAY ASSEMBLE 9:00 A.M. AT A LOCATION TO BE DETERMINED ALONG THE RED RIVER BIKE TRAIL.
  4. FAILURE TO ATTEND THE PRE-TRIP CLASS SESSIONS AND BOTH DAYS OF THE FIELD COURSE WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC DROP

GENERAL EDUCATION STATEMENT

The course is a substitute for Geol 105L or Geol 106L and is approved for categories 5 and 6 of the General Education Curriculum.

OUTCOME: Students will learn how to interpret the local landscape through a series of hands-on field experiences
