Kashif is an assistant professor at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. He did his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering under supervision of Dr. Samee U. Khan from North Dakota State University, USA.

His current research focus is energy efficient high speed networks, “Green Computing”, and robustness in data centers. He implemented and simulated the state of the art Data Center Network (DCN) architectures to:

  • Benchmark the state of the art DCNs under different network behaviors, failures, and traffic patterns
  • Figure out the strength and weakness of different DCNs
  • Measure the robustness of DCNs
  • Improve the energy efficiency and bandwidth in DCNs.

Future research plans include exploration of network traffic patterns in real data centers and development of the data center network workload generator.
