"The Motion of a Cloud of Compressible Bubbles"

Professor Sergey Gavrilyuk

We have derived the equations of motion of N bubbles moving in an incompressible fluid of low viscosity. These equations are Hamiltonian if the dissipation is neglected. To add the friction, we use the method of dissipation function proposed by Levich. The main difficulty is to derive the flow potential in the case of N moving and oscillating bubbles. This potential was calculated up to order (b/L)^3 where b is the mean bubble radius and L is the mean distance between bubbles.
