Actebia fennica (Tauscher 1806)

Common name: Black army cutworm.

Hodges #: 10924.

Identification: Rfw 15 mm, frons smooth, pro-tibia with both mesal and lateral row of setae, inner margin of fw tawny, contrasting with darker costal margin.

Similar species: 10663, 10731, 10801, 10923, 11006, 11007 and 10945.

Distribution: Circum-boreal– Canada, northern U. S. and Eurasia.

Hosts: Larvae feed on a wide variety of plants and are a minor pest of some vegetables. Hosts include: onion, peas, clovers, and also elm.
