Engineering Next Generation
     Tools for Biology
Welcome to the Nanobioengineering Lab
We are an interdisciplinary research team focusing on developing next generation tools for biology.

Our researchers are from various disciplines including engineering, physics, chemistry, biology and biochemistry.
Research Focus
We focus on analyzing complex biological systems using high-throughput quantitative biophysical approaches. In particular, our focus is to understand fundamental molecular changes that are responsible for driving various stages of breast cancer using high-throughput single-cell techniques. Initiation, development, metastasis of breast cancer and its response to therapies involve a complex biological feedback process between cancer cell population and its microenvironment.

Our overarching goals are to collaborate with engineers, biologists, physicists and clinicians to:
1) better understand the fundamental biological processes that drive the initiation, development and metastasis of breast cancer; and
2) identify better molecular targets for developing biomarkers to improve existing diagnostic methodologies.
