DOCUMENT IMAGING @ NDSU
In an effort to reclaim physical work space, storage space, and take steps toward a goal of becoming a paperless office, the Office of Registration and Records—in partnership with the Office of Admission, the Graduate School, and Residence Life—launched a document imaging initiative utilizing enterprise content management software called "ImageNow" (by Perceptive Software). Paper documents such as applications, forms, appeals, meeting minutes, and numerous others are now scanned and converted into an electronic images that are stored on a secure server and can be easily searched for and retrieved by users. This document imaging project has resulted in considerable gains in physical space that was once occupied by filing cabinets and a noticeable reduction in the amount of paper used by the office.
