Interdisciplinary Research (IR)

As Associate Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research, Dr. Greg McCarthy leads efforts aimed at accomplishing the following mission:

  • Establishing and improving the infrastructure at NDSU necessary to compete for, and execute, major interdisciplinary research programs.
  • Assisting with the development of interdepartmental, intercollege and inter-institutional research programs, groups, laboratories, consortia, centers, and institutes.
  • Assisting the Vice President for Research, Creative Activities and Technology Transfer in strategic planning and outreach to external constituencies in areas of research and technology.

  • The Centers and Institutes list includes official state-approved centers and institutes, which are recognized and approved by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education or the ND State Legislature.
