Jonathan Tolstedt joined the NDSU Technology Transfer Office in April 2008. Jonathan comes to the Technology Transfer Office with 20 years of experience in the embedded electronics industry. Jonathan’s industry experience includes software and systems engineering, project management, and business development. Jonathan has also been an adjunct lecturer with the College of Engineering at North Dakota State University for the past 10 years.
Jonathan has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from South Dakota State University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Iowa. In June 2006, Jonathan passed the patent bar exam and is now a Patent Agent registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
As a Licensing Associate, Jonathan works with NDSU inventors to evaluate their inventions for patent and market feasibility and facilitates the intellectual property agreements related to these inventions.
