Diversity Committee
The Residence Life Diversity Committee was formed in 2006, and consists of members from all areas of our Department. The main purpose of the committee is to provide leadership and direction in helping the Department of Residence Life exist as a place where all individuals are welcomed and accepted. Some of the activities of the committee include:
Assessment - Examining the current climate for students and staff within the Department and studying the climate over time to evaluate whether positive change is taking place
Planning and Implementation - Developing strategic goals and actions that are transformational in the creation of welcoming and accepting community and assisting in the implementation of the strategic plan
Learning - Recognizing that we are all life-long learners and committing ourselves to ongoing learning in the areas of diversity and social justice
Leadership - Providing for others guidance, education, and enthusiasm for our strategic plan and our commitment to creating a welcoming and accepting environment for all people
Teamwork - Working together to support each other and displaying openness and honesty in all discussions
