RESPONSIBILITIES FOR R/J HALL GOVERNMENT

A. The President shall:

1. Preside over the meetings of the Reed/Johnson Hall Government.
2. Have the authority to appoint committee heads not previously designated.
3. Coordinate all activities of the Reed/Johnson Hall Government.
4. Represent Reed/Johnson at the weekly Residence Hall Association meetings.
5. Represent the Hall at all official functions that require his presence.
6. Appoint, with the advice and consent of the Hall Government, all persons to fill vacancies, which may occur in the Hall Government during the year.
7. Meet with the Hall Director on a weekly basis.
8. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

B. The Vice-President shall:

1. Preside at meetings in the absence of the President.
2. Succeed the President if the President is unable to fulfill his obligations.
3. Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees.
4. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

C. The Secretary shall:

1. Keep a record of all Reed/Johnson Hall Government, Executive meetings, activities, keep roll of members, and lead all correspondence of the Hall Government.
2. Post minutes of each meeting of the Reed/Johnson Hall Government to the Reed/Johnson Blackboard page.
3. Keep a permanent file in which copies of this Constitution, policies, minutes of all meetings, committee reports, budget(s), and hall equipment shall be kept.
4. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

D. The Treasurer shall:

1. Handle all financial matters of the Reed/Johnson Hall Government, which include but are not limited to accounts, budgets, and requests for payment.
2. Meet with the Hall Director weekly and maintain books that are consistent with ledger of the Hall Director.
3. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

E. The Residence Hall Association Representative shall:

1. Represent Reed/Johnson Hall at the weekly Residence Hall Association Meetings.
2. Give weekly updates of the Residence Hall Association’s activities at the Hall Government meetings.
3. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

F. The Programming Council Representative shall:

1. Attend meetings of, and represent Reed/Johnson Hall on the Residence Hall Association’s Programming Council.
2. Give the Reed/Johnson Hall Government reports on/seek advice from them for the Programming Council’s actions.
3. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

G. Dining Services Representative shall:

1. Represent Reed/Johnson Hall Government at the Dining Services Meetings.
2. Enjoy a free meal at Dining Services meetings.
3. Report to Reed/Johnson Hall Government on activities therein.
4. Collect feedback from Reed/Johnson Hall Government on Dining Services performance.
5. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

H. RJ Ambassador to Weible shall:

1. Attend weekly Weible Hall Government meetings
2. Report at the weekly Reed/Johnson Hall Government meetings all pertinent information from Weible
3. Build a healthy relationship between the Weible and RJ Hall Governments
4. Serve as the point-person for collaborations between the two organizations
5. Attend weekly executive board meetings.

I. Floor Representatives shall:

1. Vote on all funding requests and any other business that needs to be addressed by Hall Government
2. Represent your floor and report on anything that has gone well in the past week as well as any concerns that may need to be addressed (noise, facility improvements/repairs, etc).
3. Help to plan and give ideas for programs for the hall as well as creating hall improvement ideas.

Reed/Johnson Hall Government Application

You can apply for as many positions as you would like, but you will "win" the "highest" position you apply for if you win multiple positions. They are in order below from President to Floor Representative; you do not get to determine your preference order.
