F-M Community Outreach
ABSTRACT: By strengthening connections throughout the Fargo-Moorhead school districts and working with business leaders in the community to expand partnerships we will enhance the connections between NDSU and the community.
GENERAL: While connections between NDSU and the Fargo-Moorhead community continue to grow we feel there are two distinct areas in which NDSU can expand: connections with the school systems and connections with local business. We believe by creating connections at the local schools through athletics, fine arts, student government, philanthropy and many other organizations we will be able to build relationships between the youth of the FM area to NDSU. We plan to expand our partnerships with local businesses by meeting with business leaders and finding ways which we can expand our relationships.
PROCESS: Student Government will begin discussions during the summer with leaders of the Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead school districts. During these discussions we will find ways in which we can develop relationships in each of the school districts. At this point we will also be beginning meetings with local business leaders to find ways to expand our partnerships. We plan to help develop future internships, conferences and workshops in hopes of creating more opportunities for our students and our local businesses. By strengthening these relationships we believe we can help foster the development of an even larger Bison Nation.
