NDSU STAFF SENATE SMALL GRANT PROGRAM

Major and Mini Project Application Guidelines


1.Funding Restrictions
  1. No grant funds may be used for salary.

  2. Regular NDSU accounting procedures will be followed.

  3. Funds are to be used only for materials or activities itemized in the approved budget.

  4. All grant funds must be spent by June 30, 1997. Unexpended project funds revert to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

  5. For major projects, if equipment over $750 is requested, the department must fund at least 10% of the item to clarify ownership issues.

  6. Projects calling for multi-period funding will not be reviewed.

2 .Submitting Proposals

Applicants should submit eight copies of their proposals to Don Peterson, IACC 206 on or before the announced deadlines.

3 .Notification of Funding Approval
  1. Every effort will be made to notify applicants of the acceptance or rejection of their proposals within two weeks following proposal submission deadlines.

  2. Funds will be available immediately after proposals have been approved for funding.

4.Submission of Final Report (1-2 pages)

Recipients of staff development funds are expected to submit a final report at the completion of the project. 'ne report should be concise and include:

  1. An abstract of 3-4 sentences or a short paragraph.

  2. A paragraph on the project objectives and the procedures employed (activities for which grant support was used).

  3. A paragraph describing the outcome or products, e.g., material developed, expertise obtained, and presentations made to others.

  4. An evaluation of your own professional development.

  5. An evaluation of the overall success of the project.

  6. A plan, if any, for sharing or disseminating project findings or results to others.

  7. A budget summary of project expenses.

  8. Please submit two copies of the fmal report. One copy should be sent to the Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs and one should go to Don Peterson, IACC 206.
