The follow is a list motions that have been approved by Staff
Senate and require some type of action to be completed. The status
of those actions will be updated as actions are taken.
The goal is to show in a simplified format, some of the
accomplishments/achievements of the Senate through the year and to
offer a quick overview of what remains to be accomplished.
- 9-3-2008 Motion made by Executive Committee and passed by
Staff Senate:
List all Staff Senate motions requiring action and to provide
regular status updates on the website. The Secretary is to
prepare the list of motions after each Staff Senate meeting for
posting on the website.
9-22-2008 List completed and placed on the Web site.

- 9-3-2008 Motion was made and passed by Staff Senate
recognizing that the Sustainability Task Force initiated by Staff
Senate has made great strides, but should now become an ad hoc
committee of the University Senate.
9-8-2008 University Senate meeting, a motion to create an ad
hoc committee for the STF was unanimously approved.

- 9-3-2008 Motion was made from Exec Committee and passed by
Staff Senate that the treasurer shall request an annual financial
review by NDSU Audit & Advisory Services following the end of
the fiscal year which will be presented for approval to the full
Senate no later than the October meeting. The Bylaws should be
amended to include this language.

- 9-3-2008 Motion was made from Exec Committee and passed by
Staff Senate that a committee be formed to investigate parking
concerns on campus and present findings at a future Staff Senate
meeting.

- 9-3-2008 MOTION passed to request that Broc Lietz, Staff
Senate Advisor, look into the issue of release time for Staff
Senators to attend meetings and perform their duties.

- 9-3-2008 Motion was made from Exec Committee and passed by
Staff Senate to form a committee to look into creation of a
cookbook as a fundraiser for Staff Senate.

Prunty, Laura Dallmann, Chris Anderson, Janine Trowbridge,
Tammy Ross, Kelly Bisek, and Tina Fisher. Rita Prunty was
charged with calling the first meeting.
>>> The committee met and determined a time line for
collecting, compiling and then selling the books before
Christmas.

- 9-3-2008 Motion was made from Exec Committee and passed by
Staff Senate to charge Executive Committee with responsibility
for significant Staff Senate website changes.

- 10-8-2008 Motion was made to sponsor a Valentine Ball once
again this
February.

- 12-3-1008 Motion was made that the proceeds from the
Valentine Ball go to the Scholarship Fund.

- 3-4-2009 Motion was made to change the Award Recognition
Committee to be made a standing committee with Campus Kudos a
mandate of that committee.

- 3-4-2009 Motion was made to create a new scholarship program
from Valentine Ball proceeds which would be open to all NDSU
students and with scholarships at a larger amount. An additional
motion to table the motion in order to study the Bylaws and to
see how much money is available for scholarships this year.
