About Student GovernmentNDSU Student Government is a strong representative voice for the students at North Daktoa State Universtiy. We strive to make NDSU a better place for all students. NDSU Student Government is made up of three branches, Executive, Legistalive, and Judicial; this three branch system is similar to the federal government's structure. The Executive Branch consists of the Student Body President and Vice President, as well as eight executive commissioners. The executive commissioners represent specific areas such as student affairs and assist the president and vice president. The Legislative Branch (Senate) consists of 35 senators representing 16 districts divided as either residental or academic. The senate is the primary policy making branch of student government as directly represents the students of their district in many university wide decisions. The Judicial Branch (Court) has final jurisdiction on issues such as constitutional interpretation, constitutionality of Student Senate legislation, cases involving the violation of the Student Body Constitution, Student Government Code or Student Senate legislation and others. The court is made up of an Chief Justice, several Associate Justices, and an Assistant Justice. NDSU Student Government stives to make NDSU a better place for all and works to "Leave the University better than when they came".
