ACE Policies

ACE’s goal is to help students achieve their academic goals.  To this end, ACE must be a place where all students feel safe, respected, and the environment is conducive to learning.  In order for all students to benefit from the use of ACE, the following policies are in place.

GENERAL ACE POLICIES APPLICABLE TO ALL AREAS

  1. Noise must be kept to a minimum.  If noise levels become unacceptable, you will be asked to quiet down.  If noise levels remain unacceptable, you may be asked to leave.
  2. Respectful behavior to other students and staff is expected at all times.  If behavior is deemed inappropriate by ACE staff, the student may be asked to leave.
  3. Cell phone use is prohibited.
  4. Game playing, surfing the web, instant messaging, skyping, and visiting social networking sites (i.e. Facebook) is prohibited.
  5. When you leave, pick up any trash and leave the area clear for the next user.
  6. Windows of all rooms must remain unobstructed.
  7. Tobacco products of any kind are prohibited.
  8. Vandalism will be assessed and charged to the responsible party.

Quiet Study Area

  1. Headphones may be used but may not be audible to any other person in the room.
  2. Space in the quiet study area is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

 Group & Individual Study Rooms

  1. Group and individual study rooms are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  2. Students have a maximum of three hours per visit in the group and individual study rooms.

 Kinesthetic Room

  1. The equipment and space in the kinesthetic room is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  2. Students have a maximum of three hours per visit in the kinesthetic room.
  3. The equipment in the kinesthetic room must remain in the kinesthetic room.
  4. Exercising is prohibited.  The equipment and space shall be used for study.
  5. Report any problems with the equipment to an ACE staff member.

 Study Room (Low Light)

  1. The lights of the dark room must remain dimmed.  Individual study lights are available at each study carrel.
  2. Space in the dark room is available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  3. Students have a maximum of three hours per visit in the dark room.

 Computer Cluster

  1. Report any problems with the computers to ACE staff.
  2. Computers are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  3. Students have a maximum of three hours per visit in the computer cluster.
