Faculty Recommendation Form for ACE and/or TRiO Student Support Services Tutor Applicants

The student who requested you to complete this confidential form is applying to be an ACE and/or TRiO Student Support Services Tutor for the 2014-2015 academic year. Your candid evaluation of this applicant's potential to be a successful tutor will be useful in selecting a well-qualified team. Thank you for your time in completing this form.
Tutors facilitate student academic skill development. This position requires superb interpersonal and communication skills. Tutors coordinate learning and provide tutoring in a group and/or 1-on-1 setting. Additonally, tutors work with students to assess their situation, set short-term goals for the session, long-term goals for academic development, and assist them in reaching those goals. The tutor will act as a referral agent for students struggling either academically or personally and should have a genuine concern for the needs of students.
