Technology Fee Awards Announcement
Funding for Fall 2006
The Technology Fee Advisory Committee (TFAC) received three proposals requesting a total of $100,717.00 in the 2006 Fall Call for Proposals. The Committee met both November 3 and again on the 8th, to examine the requests. After the discussion, the committee members voted on each proposal regarding a funding recommendation. Comments generated during the discussion on each proposal were sent to its author.
Based on the recommendations by the TFAC, On November 13, 2006, Provost Schnell approved the following proposals.
- 0605 Further Support of Student Printing Needs
In an effort to curb the amount of printing that students will privately subsidize, Student Government requested funding to increase the free printing allocation for each student from 200 to 500 pages per semester. Brian Hollanen, Student Government, $54,488.00 - 0606 Student Access Computers for Student Services Area
As part of the efforts to have a "one-stop-shop" in the Memorial Union, this proposal requests seven computers that would be available for students to access their personal status regarding registration, business and finance office transactions, and other self-service tools. Kate Haugen, Student Affairs, $8,050.00 - 0607 GDC Laptop Computer and Software Upgrades
The GDC seeks to enhance its services by replacing 20 laptops and upgrading the elctronic meeting software, Group Systems, to its virtual version. $38,179.00 NOT funded
