Project Title: Continuation of Free Printing for Students Using the NDS
Award number: 0308
Project Leader: Mark England
Report Period: Final
Project Description:
This plan addressed the need for quality printing for students using public computers in the NDSU Libraries. A majority of NDSU students use library printers to print research materials from electronic journals, bibliographic databases, and World Wide Web resources.
The Libraries have nine laser printers (including one color laser printer) that are used by students and other library users. Most of these laser printers were purchased with funds from the student technology fee program. The NDSU Libraries received 17,400.00 to purchase paper and toner for public printers. Some of the award money was used to fund repairs on existing laser printers and to purchase one new printer for the Health Sciences Library.
The $17,400 in technology fee funds allowed the Libraries to continue offering students high-quality laser printing.
Progress toward Milestones:
July 2003 Project year begins
July 2003 Memory ugrades for existing printers completed
August 2003 New laser printer installed in Health Sciences Library
June 2004 Project year ends
Comments:
Paper and toner costs were less than projected resulting in a $3720.85 surplus at year end.
Funding Summary:
NDSU fund number: 1511
Carryover: 0.00
Award: 17400.00
YTD expenses: 13679.20
Anticipated remaining expenses: 0.00
Unspent amount: 3720.80
