Technology Fee Awards Announcement

The NDSU Technology Fee Advisory Committee is pleased to announce the awards made as a result of the Fall 1999 Call for Proposals and approved by the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
9918: Support for Distance Education (Paul Juel) $8,270
- This award provides funds to further develop distance education at NDSU through a trial project. The lectures for the course (Com 459), delivered at NDSU, will also be accessible at Moorhead State University by video conferencing. In addition, the instructor will be available during office hours using the same means. If successful, the system will be used for ongoing classes to support students at remote sites.
9919: Technology-Enhanced Learning & Teaching: CourseInfo & Open-Object Learning System (Felix Guerrero & Elizabeth Smith) $13,817
- This award provides funds to support graduate students who, with direction from CAIT, will develop a system for faculty and students that will a) store learning objects where users can associate them with searchable information, such as content properties of pedagogy characteristics, b) provide users applications where they search and find reusable learning/teaching objects, c) help users create new learning/teaching objects by reassembling learning objects contributed or created by other students or faculty.
