Funding for Spring 2003
The NDSU Technology Fee Advisory Committee is pleased to announce
the awards of the March 15, 2003, Call for Proposals. The
recommendations of the committee were forwarded to Vice President
And Provost of Academic Affairs and Dr. Craig Schnell has approved
the following proposals to receive funding support.
- 0301 Performance
Assessment:
DVD Recording of Student Clinical Examinations, Dean Gross,
$3,245.00
Funds the purchase/installation of video camera and DVD burner in
the observation room in Sudro Hall. The ability to digitally
record a health assessment and burn onto DVD would allow faculty
to "see and listen" to student/client interaction providing more
opportunity for performance evaluation of those health
assessments.

Technology for the Veterinary Technology Program, Eloyes
Hill, $18,470.00
Adds new multimedia equipment consisting of a microscope with
high-resolution digital camera, computer, projector, scanner copy
stand, digital camcorder and VCR/multi-medial playback device to
the Veterinary Technology program.

Funds the purchase of a Wireless ACCESS Point (WAP) for
deployment in the main Library student lounge and network
interface cards.

Printing for Students Using the NDSU Libraries, Mark
England, $17,400.00
Funds the renewal of free Printing in the Library. Upgrades
memory in three printers, replaces one printer.

Replaces 30 older computers in the library to enable students to
have faster, more accessible web resources and printing
capabilities.

Upgrades/replaces a number of multimedia cards, overhead
projectors, and document cameras, plus maintenance and supply
items. Adds four additional multimedia carts. Supports two
F/Tpositions, students.

Support, Brian Abraham, $229,852.70
Renews continued free black and white printing in the clusters.
Asks for 5 Dell PC's/printer for Van Es 103B (integrate this
cluster into NDSU's public computer cluster). Provides for a F/T
staff and student support.

Renews support for the ITS Cluster & Classroom Service
Center. Funds new color printers, upgrades to hardware/software
and digital imaging equipment in tahe Center. Funds F/T staff and

Training, CJ Johnson, $93,484.00
Continues funding for a comprehensive learning environment for
students. Facilitates the use of small group, individual, or
self-paced training. Serves students with core to advanced
technology training needs Provides for assistance for instructors
and in-class training for projects requiring use of technology.
