Funding for Spring 2006

The Technology Fee Advisory Committee (TFAC) received four proposals requesting a total of $1,159,432.00 in the Spring Call for Proposals. On April 4, 2006, the TFAC met to examine all requests. The proposals were considered twice. The first time, they were all discussed with no formal motions and without regard to budget. Comments generated during the discussion on each proposal were sent to its author.

After the discussion, the committee members ranked the proposals individually using a ten-point scale. Finally, the committee discussed each proposal a second time with formal motions in the order that they were ranked and with attention to budget.

Based on the recommendations by the TFAC, Provost Schnell approved the following proposals.

• 0601 Landscape Management Laboratory:
  Would add six computer stations with program specific software that would impact approximately 200 students who participate in the School of Natural Resource Management. NOT funded.
• 0602 ISO Burning Station:
  Would allow students, faculty and staff who are eligible to participate in the Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) program the opportunity to burn CD's of software under the program's specific General Public License agreement. Joseph Lattimer, Accounting $1,720.00
  Final Report
• 0603 Ongoing Funding of Student Technology Support & Services:
  Provides ongoing costs for equipment, hardware refresh, maintenance, software, materials supplies and student salaries in support of the Student Technology Services program withint ITS. Rosi Koberdanz & Sheree Kornkven, ITS $849,503.00

• 0604 New Classroom Technology:
  Standard spring request in support of NDSU instrumented classrooms. This support is for the IP Link Controllers, South Engineering and the Library rooms 14a, 14b, and 14c. Rosi Kloberdanz & Melissa Stotz, ITS $79,600.
