Academic Advising at NDSU

The academic advising program at NDSU is a collaborative, interactive relationship based on mutual respect and trust between student and advisor. This relationship is designed to facilitate the student's intellectual and personal growth, to direct students to appropriate university resources, and to guide students in making informed choices regarding academic and career plans.

The advisee/advisor relationship should encourage a student to develop autonomy and positive decision making skills. Advisor-student interactions are grounded in teaching and learning and are vital in promoting student growth and personal development through learning, discovery, and engagement.

These meetings are to help you pick courses for the following semester and ensure you are on track. Students are fully responsible for their academic decisions including: selecting courses, meeting prerequisites, following University policies and procedures and meeting deadlines.

The name of your advisor can be found in the Student Center section of Campus Connection.
