Graduate Student Profile

Research Focus:
I am studying the role and mechanisms of bacterial biofilms in silver nanoparticle resistance. Silver nanoparticles are used extensively for their antimicrobial properties and have been incorporated into products as diverse as cosmetics and clothes. Understanding how biofilms enhance bacterial resistance to silver nanoparticles will be important in assessing the scope and limitations of silver nanoparticles as antimicrobial agents.
