Transfer of Entitlement


The Department of Defense determines whether or not service members can transfer benefits to family members.

Official Department of Defense Transferability Website

Steps to transfer benefits:

  1. Apply for transfer of benefits through Department of Defense portal
  2. Once approved, dependent applies to receive benefits through the VA
  3. Bring Certificate of Eligibility to the VA Certifying Official in Ceres 211
