Effective immediately, NDSU Faculty may request a personal CMS Web site. These sites have a unique look that is distinct from NDSU department pages.
PubWeb sites are now available to student organizations and to students who need to publish academic work. In both cases, sponsorship of a faculty member is required. See the PubWeb overview page for more information.
One of NDSU's current Web servers (known to some people as "WebDev") will be retired by Nov. 23, 2009, to resolve important functional and security issues.
This does not affect Web sites using TYPO3/CMS or sites created on the PubWeb service that was started in July.
Below are some of the basics that you need to know about how this may affect you and any Web sites you may own.
Please check the following lists to determine if you have a site. Be sure to check both lists -- you may have online content you are not aware of.
If your site is empty or can be discarded, no further action is required on your part. (Although you may receive future notifications about the server retirement, which you can disregard.)
If your site has been moved to the new PubWeb system or TYPO3 (or will be moved by Nov. 23), no further action is required on your part.
If you need to move your content to a new location, see the Web Hosting Options page for an overview of your options.
In most cases, you will want to move your content to the CMS/TYPO3 system, or to a PubWeb account. See the CMS/TYPO3 Overview Page or the PubWeb Overview Page to sign up for these services.
