Fitness Fundamentals

 

Want to find the fun in fitness? Join us for Fitness Fundamentals on Tuesday, February 24th, and learn something new from our personal training staff! Whether you're a beginner, or lift 7 days a week, there's always room to learn.

Balance Training with Anna
-
Focus on adding balance exercises into your workout. Help athletic performance, prevent injury, and prepare your body for later in life.  
Core Stability with Madison
-
In this session, learn about engaging your core muscles during your workout, and using proper breathing to maximize your routine.

Cost: $5 for members

Yoga Fit Trainings

 

Yoga Fit Props
Friday Feb. 20, 2015
Check-in at 7:45 am
Workshop: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

- Learn the benefits of incorporating props into yoga poses: their set-up, benefits, and minimal/maximal prop situations.
- Use of ambient sounds, music, voice, and touch: adjusting for safety and alignment of body.
- Includes introduction to Restorative Yoga, and facilitates the four conditions for relaxation.
- Open to everyone

Yoga Fit Level 1 Training
Saturday, Feb. 21 & Sunday, Feb. 22
Check-in at 7:45 am
Workshop: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm both days

- Learn to create inspiring vinyasa yoga classes founded on flow, yet grounded in exercise science safety.
- Physical execution, transitions, and modifications to traditional yoga poses are covered.
- No prerequisites to this course.
- Open to everyone.

Yoga Fit Kids Training
Friday, Apr. 17

Workshop: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

We are all born natural yogis. The younger we are, the more pliable and flexible our muscles and joints are. YogaFit Kids encourages kids, teens, and parents to explore their natural abilities in an active, safe, and fun way that honors the diversity of each students' flexibility and strength.

- Learn to promote physical development and positive attitude toward physical activity.
- Help to improve strength, flexibility, body awareness, and neuromuscular coordination.
- Learn to instruct children and teens in basic poses and mindful movement, breathing activities, and partner yoga.
- User friendly program for anyone wanting to teach children yoga.
- Open to everyone

- Level 3 takes trainees on a journey of self-awareness.
- Discuss metaphysical and philosophical aspects of yoga and the effects on the mind-body connection.
- Take deeper look at the transformational power of yoga practice.
- Learn to integrate concepts into classes.
- Open to everyone.
