2020 Camp Schedule

Due to the ongoing health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision has been made to NOT hold the majority of camps as originally scheduled. We are currently working with the camp leads to possibly offer the Just Starting to Ride: Wish I Had a Horse Camp and the Livestock Camp later this summer.

Camp Descriptions

4-H Summer Camp Warmup

Are you new to the camping experience? Come enjoy a short camp that gives you a taste of everything camp has to offer. Campers will participate in campfires, water activities, archery and natural science activities. You’ll make new friends and meet the counselors. This is a great camp for youth new to 4-H activities or overnight camping.

May 26-28 | Grades 3 and older | Cost: $60

Tractor Safety Camp

Tractor Safety Camp is designed to teach youth how to be safe on the farm. The camp is for youth ages 14-15 who plan to work on a farm for someone other than their immediate family. Youth will learn safe practices around farm equipment, rules of the road, ATV safety and labor rules. Upon completion of the camp, youth will acquire a farm permit to operate farm equipment and work around livestock for hire. The camp is filled with fun activities and hands-on riding on tractors.

Just Starting to Ride: Wish I Had a Horse Camp

Have you always wanted a horse? This camp is for you! Come learn how to saddle, bridle, ride, lead, and care for a horse. From grooming demonstrations to a halter show, this is your chance to experience what owning a horse is like. This is a beginner camp for youth interested in horses; an animal is not required.

May 31 - June 4 | Grades 3-5 | Cost: $335

4-H Adventure Camp I

Come experience a variety of 4-H activities. Adventure Camp focuses on different activities each day and encourages friendship, leadership and an appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Topics will include fun with outdoor science, exploring nature, healthful living, and many large-group activities such as canoeing, fishing, Capture the Flag, archery and water activities.

May 31 - June 4 | Grades 3 and older | Cost $300

Clover Camp I

Have you always wanted to try out 4-H Camp? Bring your parent or guardian and discover 4-H fun at camp! Together you will make new friends, explore the outdoors and appreciate one-on-one time in a beautiful outdoor setting. Campfire, crafts and exciting 4-H project activities await, let the adventure begin! Come see why 4-H campers have so much fun!

June 5-6 | Ages 5-9 | Cost: $175 for 1 adult and 1 youth; $65 for each additional youth

Livestock Camp

Learn how to show and fit your livestock in preparation for your county fair or achievement day!Participants will be divided into groups, at times, based on experience level to attend various topics. The camp will challenge the beginner and the experienced livestock participant. Learn to groom, clip, and show a variety of livestock. A showmanship contest will be held and awards will be given. We will test your knowledge of livestock with quiz bowl activities. Campers are encouraged to bring their own animals. (No poultry, rabbits or intact males of any species.) You will note which species to bring during the online registration. This camp is in partnership with the North Dakota Farm Bureau.

June 7-11 | Grades 3 and older | Cost: $300

Whopper Club: Fishing Camp

This camp is for youth who love to fish. Fish every day of this camp on some of the best fishing lakes in the state. Campers will catch small and largemouth bass, bluegills, crappies, trout and walleyes. The angler who lands the largest in five fish species will receive a trophy. Transportation and bait will be supplies.

June 7-11 | Grades 5 and older | Cost: $300

Survivor

Could you survive in the wilds of ND? Nature provides for all our basic needs, so come have fun building shelters, tracking animals, discovering cool and exciting wilderness skills like fire starting, canoeing and orienteering. Youth will compete in team building activities to win the challenge trophy. Campers will have the option to sleep outside in a tent one night.

June 14-18 | Grades 6 and older | Cost: $300

Hardcore Archery Camp

Are shooting sports your passion? This camp is designed to improve your shooting skills. Youth will participate in 3-D, WFA field archery and NFAA field archery. Archers will make an archery bow and arrow rack. One-on-one archery skill analysis, improvement plans and challenges will make for a full week of fun and skill development. Youth should bring their own equipment.

June 14-18 | Grades 5 and older | Cost: $300

Horse Camp Explorer

Are horses your passion? Do you want to improve your 4-H horse knowledge and equine evaluation skills, and learn more about the horse? This is the camp for you! Youth will learn about horse health, hoof care, equine conformation, equine-management, nutrition and general care of the horse, among many other equine-related topics. We will test your knowledge of horses with a friendly competitive quiz bowl and hippology activity.  At this time, horses are not allowed at camp and are not required.

June 21-25 | Grades 4 and older | Cost: $300

Entrepreneurship Camp

Come learn how to "think like an entrepreneur" at this North Dakota 4-H camp. Explore what being an entrepreneur means and discover opportunities for innovation and creativity all around you. Campers will experience how entrepreneurs innovate, think creatively, build teams, collaborate and develop the skills necessary to succeed on any path. The last day of camp will showcase campers' entrepreneurial spirit as they work in small teams to develop and pitch a product, service or other idea. Throughout the week, campers will learn how to apply these skills and use the entrepreneurial mindset to see entrepreneurship in everything. 4-H Adventure Camp II

Come experience a variety of 4-H activities. Adventure Camp focuses on different activities each day and encourages friendship, leadership and an  appreciation for nature and the outdoors. Topics will include fun with outdoor science, exploring nature, healthful living, and many large group activities such as canoeing, capture the flag, archery and water activities.

June 28 - July 2 | Grades 3 to 6 | Cost: $300

Junkin' It: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Do you like to create rustic treasures? Do you see potential in tired, outdated or discarded materials? Learn the principles of design and explore your creativity to make home décor and other items using recyclable materials. You will learn how to explore your community for project ideas and materials. Campers will make lifelong friends and participate in many other camp recreational activities.

June 28 - July 2 | Grades 7 and older | Cost: $300

4-H Energy Camp

North Dakota is an energy powerhouse, producing tremendous amounts of oil, natural gas, coal, renewable energy and ethanol. Spend a week learning about energy science and job opportunities, interacting with North Dakota energy leaders, and taking advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to tour energy assets across western North Dakota. (Decreased camp cost and some activities sponsored by North Dakota Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, Minnkota Power Cooperative, Great River Energy, Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Cass County Electric Cooperative, Northern Plains Electric Cooperative, Verendrye Electric Cooperative and the North Dakota Petroleum Foundation.)

July 12-16 | Grades 6 and older | Cost: $195

Kitchen Knockout Camp

Cooking is fun, but when it includes a challenge and teammates, the temperature is increased. Here's your chance to be a top-notch chef! Do you have what it takes to keep your cool while the temperature rises? From learning how to make treats, to outdoor cooking and food preservation, this camp is for youth who love cooking.

July 12-16 | Grades 6 and older | Cost: $300

Clover Camp II

Destination Science

Do you enjoy being creative with science activities? Destination Science gives youth opportunity to explore a variety of indoor and outdoor science activities. Campers will develop invention ideas and investigate science mysteries through hands-on activities. This camp will include Makey Makey controllers, drones, robotics, forensic science, food science and creative nature activities. This camp is in partnership with the North Dakota Farm Bureau.

Aug. 2-6 | Ages 11 and older | Cost: $300

Adventure Camp II: Ninja Challenge

Do you have what it takes? Each day brings a new experience, including one day with a course designed by the contestants. Run obstacle and perform challenges to see which team and individuals win the Ninja Warrior.

Livestock Camp

June 9-13, 2019

Grade: 3 and up

Early Bird Fee $275, Regular Fee $300              

Camp Description: Learn how to show and fit your livestock in preparation for you county fair or achievement day! Learn to groom, clip, and show a variety of livestock. Campers are encouraged to bring their own animals. No rabbits or poultry. Please note which species you are bringing during the online registration.

The parent or guardian attending must also register for Clover Camp. The invoice will reflect $0.00 as your registration fee is rolled in with the youth registration fee. Hardcore Archery Camp

June 16-20, 2019

Grade: 5 and up

Camp Description: Are shooting sports your passion? This camp is designed to improve your shooting skills. Youth will participate in 3-D, World Federation Archery Field Archery, and NFAA Field Archery. Archers will make an archery target butt. Archery skill analysis, improvement plans and challenges will make for a full week of fun and skill development. Youth should bring their own equipment. 

 

It's Greek to Me: All About Horses

June 23-27, 2019

Grade: 4 and up

Early Bird Fee $275, Regular Fee $300             

Camp Description: Do you know the term hippology is Greek for the study of horses? Are horses your passion? Do you want to improve your 4-H horse show experience in showmanship, horsemanship and horse judging? This is the camp for you. Youth will learn about horse health, hoof care, nutrition, selection and general care. We will test your knowledge of horses with a friendly, competitive quiz bowl activity. You do not need a horse for this camp.

Camp Description: Cooking is fun, but when the temperature goes up, can you and your teammates face the challenge? Here's your chance to be top-notch chef. From learning how to make treats to outdoor cooking and food preservation, this camp is for youth who love cooking. The final day includes a Grill Masters for the Day grill-off contest. Parents are invited to the grill-off. (RSVP)

STEAM Explorer Camp

July 14-18, 2019


Grade: 5 and up

Camp Description: Do you enjoy being creative with STEM activities? STEAM camp is your change to experience fun science, technology, engineering and match activities while incorporating art and creativity. The summer camp setting will allow campers to incorporate nature and the outdoors into their STEAM activities. Those will include Rube Goldberg machines, virtual reality, drones, rockets, robotics, food science and creative nature activities.
