Q: What is the percentage of the graduates finding a job?
A: Many of our students already work in the industry while they are going to school so several who stay in the area do get absorbed full time in at their organizations.  NDSU Career Center, Annual Employment Report shows the placement rate of Hospitality & Tourism Management students with their salary range; HTM is on page 7 of the document: https://ndsu.edu/fileadmin/career/2011annualreport.pdf

Q: What career networking opportunities might be available during my four years of study?
A: We bring in industry guest speakers (who are also sometimes our alumni) to connect with the students.  We conduct industry tours as class field trips (e.g., Madden's Resort for the Resort and Spa Management class) and also formal study tours for credit (e.g., in May 2012, we went to Los Angeles for a 6-day, 3-credit study tour).

We also keep in touch with internship sponsors, particularly if our students have excellent internship experiences there.

The program also has an Advisory Board composed of professionals from different segments of the industry.

The Hospitality Student Organization also plans field trips which usually involve industry tours.
